This will both break your heart and make it sing. A homeless man cut off the lower half of this poor little dog’s back leg and then threw him 30 feet down into the L.A. river. After receiving a call from L.A. On Cloud 9, a non-profit that provides clothing and meals to homeless people and animals in South L.A., the people from Hope for Paws set out to rescue this little dog that they named Jordan.
Hope for Paws is also a non-profit, started by Audrey and Eldad Hagar, that is dedicated to rescuing and caring for dogs, and other animals, who are suffering in the streets or in shelters. They say:
Pets are not items that can be thrown away or exchanged for younger models. Animals are sentient beings who feel pain, love, joy, mourning, and loss. These valuable creatures help us whether it is assisting the blind or finding people under the rubble from an earthquake. They help us in times of war and during human catastrophes.
We want to help both humans and animals alike live harmonious and fulfilling lives together.
We think they’re doing a pretty good job of it. We need more people like them in this world.
